How have the R1150RT-P's been working out for the officers? Are there any changes that you would make to the bike, if you were the design engineer?

Thanks Dave

What they think about the soul patch facial hair that seems so popular in California?

Although I agree that the CHP bikers seem to be pretty good riders, I was stopped by one in LA years ago (for towing my Rickman-Weslake behind my MGB - Rule Brittania! - in the wrong lane) and he'd just that morning dropped his Harley on a freeway offramp. As he told me, he'd been going too fast for conditions. Nice guy, but he still wrote me up.

I heard somewhere they use open faced helmets because a closed face helmet would seem "too intimidating" to the public.

I would think it is because it's more difficult to operate their radios with a full-face.

I was wondering how long it would take before someone referenced CHiPs.

What are the actual laws re: lane splitting and what are the enforced rules.

Thanks for doing a tough job (even though I got a ticket last month, not from you guys)

The answer should be obvious. CHIP's are Hell's Angels in disquise. Test this. Go to the Short Shop, a cop bar at rampart. Pick a fight with one of the cops. See how fast you get your butt rat packed. Most cops are glorified gang members. Their viewpoint is that they are family and we are all criminals waiting to finally commit a crime.

Cops drink and drive, speed and who knows what. When they get pulled over, flash the ol' badge. Two of my ex-neighbors use to come home staggering drunk all the time. When I use to hang with them the joke was as we were driving down the road to flash their badges at me when they would pull alongside me, knowing I was sweating my drive home.

Well, I opend up a can of worms.

LOL, I must have issues!
