Good luck with that "policing ourselves" thing since, if there's any common characteristic that motorcyclists share, it's independence. That includes the HD clubs because though they may ride similar motorcycles they are still more independent minded than 99.99% of the population... the non-riders.

Tell some guy on a Gixxer to slow down and he will just tell you to F*** Off. LOL!

He was using the "Negro example" as an allegory. He's right on this one, and you guys are wrong.

Sorry.

Well, I'd put it differently. I'd just say that I don't need the approval for my sport from some f***ing clown on facebook. If facebook clown thinks motorcycle riders are annoying he should see what everybody else thinks of HIS driving.

By policing ourselves, I mean encouraging eachother and new riders to use common sence. Kinda the way everyone recommended the new rider to NOT get a supersport. The reasons are endless and obvious. And it goes beyond that, drinking & riding, bar parking lots full of motorcycles. Bike owners feeling entitled to parking on sidewalks as if their need to keep an eye on their bike is more important then that wheelchair that needs the sidewalk to get in the restaruant. I could go on & on about how obnoxious alot bike owners typically are & I don't think they help anything but their own ego. I mean this in how they conduct themselves on & off the road.

Change all that to where every motorcyclist is a Model Citizen, and the non-riders will STILL hate and fear you. Primarily because of a substantial number of non-moto related things happening in my life, but also because of the attitude many non-riders have toward me (on or off a bike), I'm about to adopt LR's attitude of "F-Bomb all of 'em".

I'd like to think the image of the modern motorcyclist could be improved. That's all I'm trying to say. I ride with traffic, wear a helmet & safety gear I'm not obnoxious on the road with riding style or annoying pipes, I park like I should. I think if everyone was as courteous, perhaps bikes & riders would be welcomed more places. The by-laws in my HOA agreement state "no motorcycles on the property" fortunately they don't enforce that, and I don't want to challenge them to start.

Awfully nice of you, lol I don't know if it's tolerated everywhere or not but on a Friday or Sat night you can count on a few bikes parked on the sidewalks at many local restruants here & even at the mall, often blocking wheelchair ramps. And of course they have to warm them up for 10 minutes.
Sometimes I'll see them parked in the shaded areas between 2 handicap spaces, perhaps the rider himself is handicapped & not wanting to take an entire spot but thats unlikely. I'd love to see a van pull in & lower a ramp onto one.

Oh please. F*cking spare me. I guess if them Negroes wouldn't act all uppety all the time and police themselves, the White peeps might just like them too. Tell your 'friend' on Facebook to go f*ck himself for me. Thanks. Morons on Facebook really annoy me.
Yeah... not following here. Do you NOT believe the addage that "a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch"?

There is a concept called "generalization", where a person (however faulty) sees behavior by a member of a group and that behavior is attributed to the whole group, not the offender singly. I agree, it's false logic. Nevertheless, what should the group do?
