Well my Trophy sounded like a diesel owing to Triumphs ultra thin valve covers...

I think it's an excellent idea, diesel as a fuel source would solve our energy problems in short order. Look at Europe where every car sold has a diesel option with some getting 75 or more MPG. Instead of farting around with hybrids and corn/alchohol fuel we should be converting the pre-existing distribution infrastructure to predominantly diesel and having our newly Gov'mnt owned auto industry start cranking out diesels.

I guess we better nationalize the oil companies as well in case they give us any sh*t...........Onwards Comrades! let us all march forth shoulder to shoulder towards energy independance in true socialist brotherhood!!......

Tovarich Obama Points the Way!!!!!!!!

I'll second that motion.

VW had a diesel Rabbit in the 70's that got almost 50 mpg.

I like diesel too, but I think it has a major flaw: we have to send money to assholes to get it. It's a good interim solution while we work on our hydrogen/nuclear electrical generation infrastructure.

Better get to work on the people on your side of the political fence. That's where the opposition to nuclear power is coming from. Be sure to tell them that we won't build Russian air-cooled crap like at Chernobyl and that the Japanese and French have been using nuclear power safely for decades.

Apparently you guys haven't seen the soot that covers most Euro cities.

Euro drivers switched to diesels cuz the Euro gov'ts taxed the shyt out of gasoline.

Diesel has it's uses in boats, heavy machinery, etc. I hate it in cars and it would be even worse on motorcycles.

If we just drilled for our own damn oil we wouldn't need the terrorists.

By the way, most of the oil we import comes from Mexico, not the middle east.

If I want my bike to smell like an old Nazi sub, or RTD bus, I'll just shoot myself now and get it over with.

Oddly enough, it's your beloved Global Warming that's swinging that crowd around. The irony is lovely, and I don't even like irony.

"most of the oil we import comes from Mexico"
Like I said....

CLEAN DIESELS- you've heard of them. VW & Audi are at the forefront. If you can make a direct injected two-stroke "clean" as they say- you can do the same with diesels. It's an opportunity for the Bio-crowd to market to us riders. If you can run down the road smelling like sunflowers the chicks will swoon for a ride.
