Default a bike for a tall guy

hey... I am 6'5" and a beginner rider and I was wondering if anyone knows of any bikes that suit those who are taller. The preferred style would be sport or standard.

There are a good half dozen threads on the same subject, give them a read. Take a look at some of the Supermoto or Dual sport bikes like the Suzuki DRZ400SM ect.

V Stroms are pretty tall, they would probably work for you.

Take a look at these bikes (in no particular order):

Kawasaki KLR650
Suzuki V-Strom 650
Kawasaki Versys
Yamaha FZ-6
Suzuki DR650SE

Some people would try to steer you toward a bike between 250-500cc for your first ride. I think that if you have a healthy respect for the bike, the road and your riding skills (or lack thereof), you will do fine with any of the bikes listed above.

Triumph Tiger.

After you gain some experience on an older, used 600cc-ish DP.

Okay, I'll add a vote for a V-Strom, too.

Buy a used KLR 650 and ride the wheels off it, then once your skillz are up to date buy the bike that fits in your "Desired" catagory. Keep or sell KLR.
