Question Looking for my 1st new bike

Hey guys....newbie here. Let me start off by saying hi and introducing myself. I'm 26, live in North Georgia, and am looking at getting my 1st bike.

I've decided to break down and buy my first cruiser due to where gas prices are going. I've had some light experience with dirt bikes and have ridden a buddy's bike some about 2 years ago when we would hang out. I'm not looking for anything huge or the most expensive and flashy thing out there. I've looked on line and here in North Georgia, people seem to be proud of bikes that they have for sale and I'm the type of person that if something used is "too much" in my opinion, I'll just go out and buy new and get a warranty and hopefully far fewer issues.

Now my question is, what would be a nice clean 1st cruiser style bike? I have no desire to haul butt down the road, but rather just get to and from work and enjoy myself. I'm not a big guy by any means (5'-5'', 140) so I just wanted to get some opinions while I do my research. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and you guys have a great day!

I'd bring up traderonline.com and enter your basic search parameters: cost, type (cruiser), location, etc. You'll see numerous listings to give you an idea of what's out there. Or go to your neighborhood YamaKawiSuzuki dealer and sit on a bunch. Note the one you like and then search again for that specific model online.

You'll be laughed out of the Burger Barn parking-lot if you don't get something with AT LEAST 250hp.

I suggest a BossHoss 502 with a 6-71 Roots blower and NAWZ, Yo! That, or a stretched, turbo'd, and NAWZ'd Gixxer-Thou.

It's the only obvious choices available to you.

A lot of people seem to like the Suzuki Marauders. Recently they were revamped cosmetically and called the C50. But they are essentially the same bike. An 800cc cruiser that seems to have some decent one-up highway ability.

Don't buy new.

More elaborate response to follow.

Read the new user thread, buy cheap, small and light 1st. Then decide what you want after.

Will you PULLEEZE buy a BossHoss and get on with your life? I'm ready to buy one and mail it to you just to ensure my place in Heaven for having fulfilled another's destiny.

You would do well to check out the Honda Shadow Spirit 750 for a first cruiser, under 500 lbs and a low seat.

Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora.
