This winter, number 3, I hand enough balance skills to ride across textured ice and slippery snow at very slow speeds. I've got some plowed gravel road nearby and did some very slow speed practice on that when it was snow and ice covered but plowed and found it very useful. At near walking speeds I could create all kinds of subtle traction situations. It probably helps that my bike is small (KLX300). All around good balance practice when you're ready for it.

That looks like a great practice and good fun. It would have been cooler if it were on the textured ice!
