Alpinestars makes some really nice gear. For me, it's a bit expensive and they don't offer my size (they don't offer tall sizes unless you go custom), but if you can afford it... The most important thing about all gear is that it fits properly.

Gaunlets are great anytime but summer. For summer I'd by perf'd leather summer short gloves. I prefer Alpinestars but my bro-in-law loves Icon. My last JR's didn't wear well- that's why I switched to Alpinestars. Although, there are some nice goat Helds that I may cave and get next summer.

Get Textile mesh!
Even the perforated leather is quite hot. Make sure you buy a jacket that comes with a waterproof and/or insulated liner. That way the jacket will serve you in almost all conditions you are likely to face there in Lost Angles. If you like the AS gear, check out Triumph apparel. More and more of their stuff is made by AS.
