Yesterdays ugly is todays pretty. I saw several "naked" bikes and thought they were wrecked sport bikes mid-rebuild, before I noticed they were making them that way on purpose. Not that it isn't practical, myself personally I'm tired of chrome & having to clean up the bike so much/often. My next rig will likely be a strict tourer, not a cruiser variation. I'm not even 40 yet and want a grandpa bike. But when I was 20 & all my friends got GSXR's & CBR's, I bought a Vulcan, so I didn't start where most people do.

Well you don't have to get a damn Goldwiener or Ultra Gassic. There's very comfy, super fast bikes that will keep your pulse above 60. Demo a Concours 14...an amazing bike.

An ultra classic would require as much or more polish then what I've got, and the wing isn't at all practical in town in my opinion, too much heft. I like the Concorus, and that Honda model with full fairings & hard bags. I'm not likely to switch bikes again for several years though, but may give up washing anything but the windscreen & mirrors.
