Excellent choice! That bike will have plenty of power for your first year or two. Spend this time focusing on your developing your skill.

![]() ![]() ![]() Sartorius, glad you stuck it out. Too many riders or newbs come here looking for "advice" when what they really want in approval to buy a bike waaaaaayyyy beyond their capabilities. The resident MOfos won't give bad advice, just good advice with a pinch of wit and a dash of sarcasm. I'm glad you saw the knowledge for what it was -- knowledge. Stick around a while. Share with us your experiences learning riding on your new bike.

There is nothing inherently "wrong" with a carb. FI is usually a little more reliable, needing virtually NO routine maintenance. A carb needs little; a dose of cleaner a few times a season usually keeps it running good. If you are ready to buy and found a bike you like at a good price.........I certainly wouldn't let carb paranoia stop me.

FI bikes run a little smoother when cold and no choke to mess with. Other than that its not a big deal. Personally I can work on a carb, FI, not so much.
