First post -I'm so excited. Old fart otherwise...

Back on topic, I'd suggest an 80's BMW R65 to learn on. Should cost under $3K for a decent one. (always expect to have to buy a battery, tires, etc for a used bike)

I really feel that the feet-forward position of so-called cruisers put the rider at a disadvantage as far as control goes.
