Nice job, Crash!
You didn't mention that you need to be at least 25 feet away from your 'target' so the setback fuse in the grenade has time to arm. Then there's the whole 'debris' thing...

I thought it was time & temperature + tin foil to keep the drippings from flaming up and charing the meat.....

25 meters. Time for the M203/M72 round to rotate 3 times and arm.

25-30 meters is correct. That's about the distance it took an M-79 to arm. It took superior incompetence to blow the shyt out of yourself with your own M-79. But I think John Kerry managed it.

25 - 30 meters?
I have personal experience that says, while being further away is a really good idea, the 40MM grenades are armed (and thus will explode) a heck of a lot earlier than that.

See that's why I went into the Navy instead of the Army or Marines. I realldy don't want to be screwing around with things that will blow me to smithereens if I don't do it right.
High pressure steam systems are so much safer.......

But, that 'experience' I mentioned was aboard ship! I learned a long time ago that small arms in the hands of a squid are not necessarily a good idea! And that was long before my EOD experience!
