i am currently riding a 125cc yamaha sr 1997 and looking to upgrade to a 600cc. i have narrowed it down to 3 bike, honda cbr, yamaha r6 and the suzuki gsxr. (the latter 2 being my favourite). i am looking at 1999 and 2000 bikes as i only have about £1500 to £1750.
let me know what u think!! |

OK- first, the jump from a 125 to a 600 is HUGE. second, buying something that old with little to no ability to get a "real" history of the bike is iffy at best. Most of those bikes are well used by then. I'd take the same money and purchase a Suzuki SV650 or a Kawasaki EX500 Ninja model year 2000-2003. Ride that for two seasons then turn it into yout trackday bike. Get your 600 after you manage to log about 15,000 miles- Should take about two years.

Normally, I reckon Ace'd be all over it, but I saw where the OP is talking a budget in Pounds Sterling.

there´s a lot of bikes interesting in that segment...600 yep!!but i think you NEED TO ride some of the previous segment 250-500 for a while..like suzuki gs 500 kawa ex 500 suzi sv 650 to start to feel what is to turn, brake and get used to. but if you are sure and your pocket don´t cry...buy a cbr 600 93/95 it´smooth in every aspect..TAKE IT EASY!!
