Ninja 250 too small?

Hey,

I plan to buy my first bike within the next few months and I have pretty much settled on the Kawasaki Ninja 250. Everyone I've talked to has told me that it is the best way to go for a first time biker. My only concern is that I stand 6'4" and weigh about 210. Am I too big for this bike, or will there be enough leg space for me. Thanks for giving a new biker some advice.

I'm in the same boat, so I may be wrong...

Sit on it. best way to tell.

Weight should not be an issue.

You're going to be "big" on any pure sportbike. They're small. If you feel too folded up, look at some standards like the Triumph twins, maybe a DL650, or a Versys. A bike that's 'in-between" that is appealing is the Yamaha FZ-6. It's a "relaxed" sorta kinda naked/sportbike that's only $6,500. BUT, it is a lot of bike for a brand new rider...maybe too much.

New rider? Read the "New Rider Sticky" thread.

Alright! Isn't this, like, the third time in the past month this question has been posted by a different poster? What gives?

Well I agree with this. Only by sitting on it will you be sure if you'll fit in it or not. Also I am having my bike actually my first bike. I also did this to see if I am actually a biggie for this one but am not. So just heed the advice.

You'll want to sit on it to find out - and note that if the Ninja 250 is too small for you, most other sport bikes will be, too. Engine size doesn't match ergonomics very much on sport bikes.

If it is too small, try a Suzuki DRZ-400SM; they're beginner friendly and have a lot of room.

Or, my gawd, even buy the DRZ400S. Then you get to ride dirt and really have some fun.
