Quigley Down Under was written for McQueen in the 1970s.

That's nice to know. McQueen defined cool. But Selleck makes a better movie cowboy. Probably the best all-time screen cowboy is Robert Duvall. Though Tommy Lee Jones is up there. Ward Bond too. McQueen just wasn't as good at that particular role. But he was always cool, no doubt about it. The Thomas Crown Affair was probably his best and coolest role with The Great Escape up near it.

Tom Selleck does make a good cowboy, him and Sam Sheppard are good together. Have to agree on Robert Duvall too, he's up there with Clint Eastwood and Audi Murphy

My favorite McQeen flick was The War Lover followed by The Sand Pebbles

Oh yeah. The Sand Pebbles. Good flick. Really good book too. Read it twice. One of the few that didn't result in a sucko movie. Or you can read the book after seeing the movie without ruining it.

What about Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of Dollars, or better yet, Unforgiven?
