I agree with LR, ride it stock or 6 months, unless you want to finance the cost of the pipes in with the bike. Get some good bags, waterproof. Great choice on the bike!

It's confirmed! Dr. Pulley gave the 6 months the thumbs up!

If you want visibility, consider a three-light solution, using a couple of LEDs mounted down low on the forks. They will be less expensive than HIDs and you can wire them to turn on with the headlight.

What, I say wait a while before buying accessories and nobody says "good thinking KK, yeah, we agree." LR says it and everybody falls all over themselves to say how smart he is.

This isn't fair. I'm telling KDuke on all of you bastards.

And Sachi, forget the damn HID lights. They're stupid. Nyah nyah nyah.

He's a lot bigger than you and we don't want him showing up on our doorsteps and going all Herman Munster on us.

That's 'cause you're not in "the club". I'm not yet either, but I'm workin' on it.

Oh, BTW, thanks again for the exhaust painting advice. I bought the VHT Flame Proof in flat black and painted my pipe this weekend. (That sounds obscene, huh?) I'll post some pics when I get the pipe back on.

So newagetwotone and Dr Pulley are "everybody" now?

For your info I don't agree with LR and he can KMA anytime. Buz, too.

Want accessories? Get 'em! Save the economy. Don't listen to these nattering nabobs of negativity!

And you will never be in the club until your name becomes Dr. Pulley. We hate sprockets.

And I thank you for that. Bookmarked the site for future references.

After reading through the replies, I will more than likely go with the crash bars/frame sliders and changing the stock gas cap to a lockable one. I would still prefer to try and get brighter lights so I'll look for lesser expensive alternatives to HID, if possible. I do intend to finance the bike from a dealer, hence the initial thinking of getting the exhaust system modded. Thanks to the lesser expensive options at newbonneville.com I'll now go with a ride and feel method rather than tossing an additional $1k+ on the financing upfront.

I also read on a couple other sites that the Bonne's could use some tweaking on the suspension and steering, but being as I'm practically clueless with bikes at the moment it's something that I just didn't feel too comfortable to make blind adjustments on just for the sake of doing it.

Good call on the shoes. I was having a rough time trying to find that blend of cool bike riding kicks [that's not just zipper only] yet cool still wear into a corporate office [leather bottoms aren't that good on the road]. Zappos had some good selections.
