Well... as much as I love the isle of man races (IMO the best rider and motorcycle proving grounds in the world)... I had to sit back and think about the concequences of the spread of the disease to the island. Honestly, I would rather wait a year and see the races return to a healthy island than go back next year and see people in the doldrums of recession due to the loss of their livestock. Foot and mouth disease seems to be spread rather easily, and with the influx of so many tourists, it would be like playing russian roulette and hoping nothing bad happens. Oh well, I'll get over it and hopefully everything will be good to go next year.

Well, as someone else said, it wouldn't be the same without Joey anyway.

A wise decision, though painful. This year was shaping up to be a great start to the post Joey (RIP) era, with TT legend Steve Hislop returning on a Ducati to race head to head with David Jeffries on a Yamaha. I was looking forward to seeing the GSX-R 1000 in action on the Manx roads too. Well, here's to next year.....

In case some of you haven't heard, the AMA round of the Superbike (and supporting) series at Willow Springs is on again. It will be held September 14-16.

Everybody must have forgotten about the SBK and British SBK series conflicts that would have pretty much gutted the field of the TT this year anyway. This unfortunate cancellation might end up being a good thing. Gives all involved a year to get their collective excrement together and not schedule races on TT week! Anyway, I would have had a hard time watching it without 'Yur Man' being there this year.
Two more things, eat more chicken and I thought it was hoof and mouth not foot in mouth. Cattle ain't got feet, they got hooves! |
