can any one tell me way when i shift to overdrive my bike feels like it is lugging at highway speed just checking to see if that was normal

It shouldn't feel like it's lugging. What RPMs are you running when this happens?

i seam's to do it at 65 to 70 then smooth's out at 80 i just got the bike only has 1,000 mile's on it. it only do's it in over drive. first bike i very owned with a over drive

Unless you think there is a problem with the bike, select the gear that keeps the RPMs in a range where the engine isn't bogging down.

Cruiser or sportbike do as ken says and keep the throttle where when you hit it it goes immediately. I find this to be a common problem with people and leaves me scratching my head with alot of my old customers.

Never be affraid to have the rpms up higher than your ear thinks is appropriate. Also if you really want to know look into getting a tach installed that will really tell you if your lugging the motor in over drive.
