Default Re: MO is still the best, even if they do get scooped

MO has had the story for days and it has to be killing them, but their British buds probobly jumped the gun and broke the code of silence. Why not, Harley will never advertise on their site anyway, and they will still get invited to check out the now stuff anyway.

Too bad........

You got it right! The bean counters have the final say both for profits and for competative advantage.

Sell a couple of thousand bikes and build it for a couple of bucks less, you now have a healthy profit margin.

Price sells, if your product is less than the competition, people will come and look, then they can sell. Matter of fact, they can sell twice, first the bike, then the accesories!

At the local bike shop, this seems to be working!

120 ft/lbs of torque isn't a heck of lot more than 75 ft/lbs????

Default Harley customers are the reliable ones...

Well said Doctor...

I suppose my point is that anyone who "comparison shops" for

a new Harley will probably not buy one. I would hazard to say

that 99 3/4% of Harley buyers had *only* Harley in mind

when purchasing their new scoot. (IOW, they had already

made up their mind...)

Yes, it's a heck of a lot more... but how exciting is THAT?! So... it'll accelerate exactly the same 2-up as it will solo... *yawn*

I've personally found (and yes, it's MHO) that top end rush is far more entertaining than low end grunt, and I think the point was that the Honda is making barely any more horspower out of an engine that is 700 cc's bigger. 700 cc's... I've ridden bikes that displace 700 cc's.

Hehe... Whoops.. The Harley makes more HP than the VTX. I typed it wrong.

Default Hey remember Harley is the king of stupid names.

Remember the "Bad Boy"? Worst name ever in the history of motorcycling. Cool bike though.

Default At least it doens't have those HIDEOUS pressed seams around

the gas tank.

IMO the pressed seams absolutely RUIN the VTX (which is BUTT Ugly to begin with) and the Warrior's look. - of course styling is a matter of personal preference and I've never been impressed with Honda's cruisers except the Magna in that department.

Yamaha can do it right, as can Kawasaki (the Nomad is especially beautiful as are the Drifters). Hondas cruisers miss and Suzukis make me puke.

When are H, Y, and S going to figure out that those pressed seams are ugly as hell!!!!
