I confess to being a bit of a Luddite myself, why screw around with valve timing on a street bike? put a power valve in the exhaust like Yamaha's EXUP and call it good.

I do like the bike though, might even buy one some day. Heated grips and an adjustable windshield is about all I'd want, maybe ABS if it was unobtrusive. I really don't need variable valve timing for the sake of techno gee-whizz effect.

I have to agree with you guys from a comfort standpoint. I sat on the first zx14 i saw. just a week ago. It seemed to fit really well. Felt substantially better in repose than a eyeabuser. about the same as my viffer.

Now for a test ride, except no kawi dealers allow it arond here.

how do people do it with these brand new bikes? wait for a friend to risk it, then ride theirs?

i will say i don't see how the zx-14 will handle as well as the vfr, it seems really long. but who knows?
