well there were lots of horror stories about guys who bought Gammas from up there and found epoxied up holes in crankcases and things... thrashed ex-racebikes with fresh plastic.

When I was a yute the RD350/400 was my dream bike. Yellow and black of course.

Now I can afford one but I don't have any place to put it or any time to ride it!

I had a '69 H1 - that was one cool bike in it's day. Wish I had kept it, but the 750 Honda seemed oh so much more sophisticated. That Kawi dumped me one day when the float bowl overflow tube (!) that was pressed into the floor of the center carb float bowl fell out due to vibes. Resulting in a fuel soaked rear tire. Tires were'nt much to begin with in those days.............. good thing it was a slow lefthander with no oncoming traffic. I never did ride it fast again after that.

It was a cool bike though, no doubt. Pearly white with blue striping. The advertising said 12.6 sec quarter mile - fastest production bike of the day.

A friend had a 350 Bridgestone twin two stroke that gave me fits though. It had a rotary valve two stroke with pretty good midrange.

We put both those bikes through their paces, what a hoot.

Yardbird..........

Does the blue smoke drift uphill or down?

That stuff is great !! I can still remember that smell from racing dirt bikes. Now, I hear there's nothing crappy 4 strokes. Long live the 2 stroke

Aaaahhh! The white tank model! The Original.

My mind still runs gibbering to the darkest recesses, when I even think about it.

But...hell.. it was FUN! - even if I was faster, point to point on an S2!
