I have one, I think Kaw missed the boat on several things:

They should have cast some fins on the rocker boxes to make it look like a flathead

They should have had a fixed rear fender - the fender as mounted makes a big gap under the rear of the seat and makes mounting saddlebags a major PITA

Real brakes would be nice - too much like a '42 Chief now!

Plastic fenders get rattly and creaky fast - if the were 3 pc like original (?) you could change the styling, the Drifters are hard to sell

Default Saturated market. Declining demographic target

I agree. Indian doesn't mean anything to me. Looks like they are going after an already saturated market. I actually do like the looks of the Kawasaki Drifter, my neighbor had one. He traded it in cause it handled like crap. But I don't think the same old Indian stuff will sell to Gen X and Y. There are a declining number of boomers.

Default Yes Speed kills

Yes velocity/speed is important in collisions as the kinetic energy varies with the square of the velocity. i.e Ke = 1/2 *m * v *v where Ke=Kinetic energy m=mass v=velocity. seruzawa have you done your homework assignment?

Too many middle-aged, wannabe, sissy boys out there to kill the market. All things cycle, however. You, the GMP, should know full well. It's an ever changing sport for us. That, in no way, should derail plans for manufacturers to contantly update and change bikes as market demands evolve. But you knew that already- didn't you? Hopefully, they won't stick with the clone motor and screw things up- again.



Hey- maybe the Indian guys can bring to market a bike like the Eliminator 1000. Imagine sportbike power, V-twin torque, and an aluminum chasis (Warrior style) with USD fully adjustable forks. It would sure screw with the rest of the industry.

Last time I was through Belle Plaine there was a bigass "for sale or lease" sign on the E-H building. It's pretty snazzy, I'm surprised Polaris never bought it.
