St1100

Hi guys . Does anyone know whether the st1300 motor will fit into an st1100 ?I read somewhere that the blocks are of the same dimensions on the outside, just a bigger BORE.

I have no clue, but if Boss Hoss can fit Chevy small blocks into bikes, you should be able to fit an ST1300 engine into an ST1100.

Though for the price of an ST1300 engine why not just buy another ST1100?

Good point. It's just that I prefer the looks of the st1100 sooooo much more than the st1300. I just wish it was a little quicker and with the exhaust note of the 1300 when accelerating.

Well, if you go to the right bars you can find an st1300 engine just sitting in the parking lot. Much cheaper.

If you go to factorypro.com they list a jetting kit for the ST1100. The stock carbs are very lean. You might realize some more performance with a jet kit and a couple of slip-ons. There's really not much in the way of performance parts for the ST1100.

About jet kits, my mechanic told me that the st1100 is one bike you do not want to rejet because it can turn into a nightmare. Heard anything about that?
I am going to the website you mentioned and will do a little home work. Thanks for the info.
