I'm looking into some sort of pannier(s) or saddlebag(s) that I can use to transport groceries from the store since I do not own a car. I suppose just about any kind of motorcycle bag would do the job, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience or interesting ideas about how to go about tackling this issue...

In doing a search for grocery panniers/bags online I seem to get bicycle-related gear, but no documentation on whether or not these are a viable option for motorbikes.

Each of the manufacturers and several aftermarket companies offer model specific motorcycle luggage. For an additional fee they will install for you while you browse the showroom.

A few bungies and an old milk crate and you're just like downtown.

Can you even FIND a "Milk Crate" to steal from behind the local grocer anymore? I haven't seen one in years.

Mebbe the stores just keep a better eye on 'em nowadays.

Well, my daughter found one and put it on the back of her Stella scooter. At least she's keeping our motorcycle heritage alive!

I see them on the side of the highway more then anywhere else. My uncle had them 2 wide on his early 80's CB-something Honda, he would stack them & bungee them down, even cut the bottom off a couple to have lids.

Don't listen to these Philistines, BMW offers some very stylish and lockable hard bags and top cases as standard equipment in addition to bag liners for a very reasonable price for most models, see you local BMW Motorrad dealer today!
