If you've never had experience with a V45, especially yours which has been wrecked. I would scrap it and find another one. People will pay good bucks for low mileage heads and cams. The amount of work and money you will put into it will exceed the price for a nice used working one.
If you have ever seen the amount of service notices those things had prior to '85 it would make your head spin.
