So, I have a 1970 90cc Honda Super Cub.
It says "90" on the front, and "super cub" on the sides, the title says 1970, and the VIN would lead me to believe it is a C90M, as it starts with C90 and ends with M. However, nobody anywhere lists parts for sale for a C90M or CM91 (which is apparently an alternate model name for this line of bike) beyond 1969. I need to dig up a carb rebuild kit or replacement carb for this thing, but before I go and order one for a 1969, it would be comforting to know I am not ordering the wrong parts... Does anyone know about this particular anomaly? |

American Honda's Model Identification Guide doesn't show that exact bike, which suggests it might have originally been sold outside the US.
The guide does show a CM91 Honda 90 (alternately designated C90M), in the traditional step-thru design. However, the notes say that the emblem on the tank reads "Honda 90", not Super Cub. That model was sold from 1966-1969, and frame numbers begin with CM91-100001... It has both electric and kick start and a 3-speed transmission with automatic clutch. No help on carburetor compatibility. |
