I don't think we're all is finding fault with VTEC technology. It's a good system and Honda does it right. (I owned an NSX with VTEC and it worked great...8000rpm redline...very cool!



It's just that on the VFR, the cost of the VTEC is the gear-driven cams. Plus, (strangely enough) the VTEC does nothing for performance on the VFR...perhaps even detracts.



To lose the gear-driven cams effectiveness and the 'signature VFR sound' for VTEC is not a good trade-off. Honda makes few mistakes but I believe this was one of them.
