Nice report but get real. A factory Honda against a bunch of privateers. I certainley hope it was faster. Yaaa, I know a couple of the other riders are supported but Ryno's bike is the R&D test bed with major bucks spent on it. You could buy ten KTM's or Cannondales for what it cost to build that thing.

I just hope they figured out a way to keep it quiet. Every modern 4 stroke I see out on the trails has an aftermarket exhaust that's TOO DAMN LOUD!

My 2 stroke KTM 300 is whisper quiet by comparison.

I had a CR500 (That will no longer be made, in deference to this new diesel pig) that we were able to quiet down to mouse levels, and it still made too much power.

Somebody better solve the sound equation before we're all rideless.

Let's see, where so I start...

First, yes the new CR is AWESOME. Second, the CR did not run away from the 4two6, Ryan Hughes, a Factory Rider, ran away from a bunch of privateers. (Insert props to Dr. Doug here! you are my hero) Not exactly the same thing... This CRF may be the greatest thing since sliced bread (read YZ426) but Ryno winning Glenn Helen does not prove that. Well will just have to wait and see. As far as the KTM arguement goes, I can tell you why there are 10 to 1. You flat out can not get a 520SX. My local shop said I would have to wait until the '03's came out...that's right, not next year, the year after.

I am stoked someone is stepping up to the plate.

The yz 426 is my favorite bike I have ever ridden, now with some competition, maybe it will even lose some weight!
