I rode the VFR for a couple days during the MO test and I didn't notice fuel injection issues. It ran perfectly the whole time.

There have always been some people who say their bike has been perfect but there have been tons who complained.

Lots of people have speculated on various things...

- If the valves are perfect it won't do it

- If the starter/throttle body stuff is perfect it won't do it

- If the throttle cable is perfect it won't do it

- It does it more/less in different weather

- Speculation some bikes had the 02 sensors wired wrong (this was huge among the UK crowd)

Etc, Etc, Etc.. so you could have gotten a perfect one.

The other thing is if Honda is playing funny this could very easily be the kind of thing that a "cheater map" could fix. One map for EPA testing and production bikes, another richer one for magazine tests, etc..

But there are far too many owners who complain for it to be totally fake.

The day we rode the VFR it was unseasonably cool for SoCal and we were on the open road most of the time. It felt good to me as well and I had her up around 120 or so (closed course only! wink wink).

How about a large roll cage completely surrounding the bike? That way with any collision you could go bouncing down the road secured by the 4 point harness and have an airbag plastered into your puss. Add in helmet and armored body gear, and THAT is safety, my friend!

So Buz,

With all the "improvements", is the '06 VFR still worthy of membership in the MO "Holy Trinity?"

Yeah. Jeez, honda. REALLY make me not want a Sprint instead. Cheaper, better looking, more powerful, no F@#)$*(# VTEC lumping-up-the-torque-curve, no "Run the bike extra hot" side mounted iditators, err, radiators, nicer looking bags, same price...
