Default Joey Dunlop

I has always dreamt of going to the Isle of Man races, but with Joey gone, the mystique is sort of gone for me. He's who I would have been rooting for. I think it would still be an incredible experience, though.

As a dire hard Harley guy, who also rides BMWs, thought I would never say this...

GOOD FOR HONDA!

Now, if the rest of the industry would jump in....

What the...? Well of course the big h is gonna do the TT again. Are you guys (MO) saying that by omission, Yamaha, Ducati et al aren't? What is David Jeffries going to do that month, if he isn't riding the TT? Really, Duh.

John Reynolds summed up the IoM pretty well "Jesus Christ, Steve (Hislop) came past like i was stood still, and i wasn't hangin about. He bounced through the bottom of Baaregarroo, sparks flying off the bottom of the bike, and wobbled off to to Kirkmichael. I thought 'if that's what you've got to do to win a TT, you can flippin' keep it'." (Oct. '01 PB)

I've always thought the IoM was the most entertaining program ever broadcast. The sidecars are especially mind blowing

Default You need to go!

If you've never been to the IOM, you need to go before you die. It's absolutely incredible.

We get maybe 5 minutes of footage each year on television. Anybody know if SpeedVision/Channel is going to broadcast it?

I think they have retired Joey's Number for the IOM as a mark of respect.

He was a legend.

great non news..i don't think there was ever a doubt that honda would compete ...

i expect to see suzuki , kawasaki , yamaha etc ..to be quizzed now about their non- participation ! they probably don't realise that they have to announce it every year....

however on another note..it will be very sad not to have joey there....he is the isle of man..

but for all the people who have not been there believe me every one of the lesser known riders race every bit as hard!!

joey did not hold the outright lap record...i think it is still david jeffries ..(i could be wrong)..and while you are over in the isle of man you should take the short trip over to ireland to watch the road racing series that runs here every year ...which joey also raced ....on another point..i expect Edwards to get smoked... the lack of run off and gravel traps should sufficiently unnerve him ....
