Alimony went out the bell bottoms. The person trying to pull off the KFake persona isn't doing well, and he showed his age with the alimony nonsense. Much different writing style with this guy and a new fake crisis should keep the guys that actually respond to him busy for quite a while.

I live in Atlanta GA and do a mix of road and track, but I'm hoping to up my track time somewhat. I'm 5'11" 205#'s

Well here in 'ol California, alimony still exists. They just call it "Family Support" now.

So you can end up paying child support and family support at the same time.

Family Support is tax deductible for the payor and a tax liability for the payee. Child support is not deductible and does not have to be claimed.

Any questions why I've stayed single since my divorce 8 years ago? I don't pay nuthin!

That was really meant to be a dig at KP, although I'm not even certain why I bother going there.

My wife might grumble if I spend money in a way she doesn't like, but I will only start listening if she earns us any money.

Buz thanks for clearing that up. WA follows CA in legal things most of the time. Yes alimony still exists. Especially if you are paying all of the bills like me. How long did you have to pay Family support? My lawyer thinks 2-3 yrs since I paid for her school.

I made up the whole girlfriend thing and yep I had a Guiness or two last night.. P.S. My uncle is retired divorce attorney from Orange County he lives in Mesa Az now.. He says CA, WA etc "blue" states tend to have the most brutal laws and judges when it comes to a man who makes all of the money thing.
