I should add that I have a set. And I find it difficult to put on and remove my full face helmet with them in. Getting it on has gotten better but removal requires me to remove the earbuds first by pulling lightly on the wires. Not good for longevity. My flip face is less troublesome when I'm careful.

I've got the cheapo Phillips one and they're ok. You still hear a lot but music is discernible my whole ride.
The noise-canceling element seems more to me like volume-amplifying rather than actual noise-canceling like a Sony pair of noise-canceling headphones I have. The buds are easy to lose, but replacements are easily obtainable from Sony of all places.

I had the phillips noise cancelling earbuds, returned them to the store for a refund. They didn't cancel any noise as far as I could tell, plus they require battery power. I went with the Koss earplug type headphones and have been very pleased with them.
