That's odd, because I was Time Magazine's Man of the Year in '06, also. What are the odds?

Take some good photos and give us a good read when you're done.

A thousand bucks-yikes! I had the valves adjusted, carbs syched (yeah, I know) chain replaced, and a few other minor things and it still didn't come to that much. Is it that much more for the VTEC jobs?

96 VFR, 40k. (One voltage regulator so far.)

If you're going to have to spend that kind of money on a service, you might want to look at the ST-3. Not quite as powerful as the ST-4, but maybe a bit more tractable, though that's hardly a problem with any V-twin.

Treasure the moment. Most car guys by now know better than to challenge virtually ANY motorcycle.

It is fun though, isn't it? I try to act like I didn't even notice them, and just whacked the throttle to find a gap in traffic. Getting beat by someone who doesn't even know they are racing has to be the worst.

I've always thought that the VFR, ST-3/4, and the Triumph were sport bikes that can be toured on, at least solo, and are the most seriously capable bikes on the planet, all things considered. And the ST 1300 and FJR are touring bikes that can be ridden in a sporty fashion. They're pretty damn capable too, but biased toward full on touring, and probably what you want if you ever take a passenger. You just sacrifice a little agility.

The SV1000 with a sport fairing and addon luggage would be a sweet ride. I'd bet it'd make a kick@ss sporttourer.

Har. I just had fun about an hour ago playing with some clown in a Jetta on I-15. What is it with those Jetta people? Why do they think those cars are fast?
