I used to light those and throw them in the toilet at high school.

Leave your address, I'll come to your house every Christmas Eve and shoot your front-porch light out to let you know how much I "appreciate" that.............

Come on now, then I wouldn't be able to ask such a lame question on MO and MO wouldn't post such a lame question.

There's probably 4-8 bolts holding that thing on, time to find out the old fashioned way. I'd say if nothing else has changed on your bike, it's a suspect, but losing another bit would affect it as well as another poster said.

I'm reading into your post that the vibration started after the freeway bars were installed.

Check the mounting bolts for the bar and confirm they are tight. Some bars share mounting bolts with the engine bolts. Also check any bolts in the area incase the tech loosened one by mistake when mounting the bar.

Schools in NY can leave a guy looking for something to do during study hall...

No. It's more likely that the vibration that was already there is much more noticable with the new bars. I've swapped bars on my Brit bikes many times over the years and the shape and length (mostly the length) of the bar moves the vibration around a lot. My triumph has rubber vibration dampers and changing bars affects how well those work.

If vibration is a problem - you don't say that it is, but if it is - the best change you can make is to change the final drive gearing to a lower overall ratio - if you have chain final drive.
