I'm right around the same weight, and 6'+ myself. Aside from picking up a FJ-anything, a ZX-9R (before 2000), or a '06 GSX-R 750, I'd recommend that if engine size isn't an issue, get a 650 V-Strom. It's tall, has the same rock solid motor as the SV650, is truly comfortable, and with the right tires -- I run Scorpion Sync's -- it handles great. You see 'em on the track often for people not locked into the supersport or superbikes classes. Drop on a fork brace, a better windscreen -- if the stock doesn't work for ya -- and a Pyramid chin fairing and have a blast for minor bucks.

Looks are subjective, but I love adventure sport bikes looks like the GS, Tiger, Strom, Canyon and Ulysses. I love true sportbikes, but they've all become nearly identical in styling and most of dropped any goals of street comfort for track savvy -- not always a priority unless you get to the track.

R1200R is nice bike. Right up my alley.

But... the thread starter said he wanted FAST. Fast on the BMW line right now means the inline-four K1200's.

Oops. I correct myself, he didn't say FAST he said "not a touring mount".

But still, he's already had the R1150...

One showed up at the Mill Hall dual-sport ride in June. The guy said he was running enduroes with it. Don't know if I believe that, but it was getting battle-scarred.

Go Big Zed. The ZRX1200 can be easily modded to 130HP at the tire (Pipe, Jet Kit) and looks great and is very comfortable. Check www.zrxoa.org for all kinds of neat mods, including "lowered cruising pegs".

I have one, too. A very comfortable sport bike, but I'm nowhere near as tall as you.

Triumph is trying to clear out inventory on the discontinued 955i, so you'll be able to get one for a song. There are still some leftovers around, too, so you can save even more cash.

I wonder whether the pegs will be a bit too high for you, though. Check out the S3 and the Sprint, too.
