If you plan on any long rides forget about both of them. If you plan on any trips over 100 miles they are not the bikes to have. Get a standard as they are far more comforatable plus they have very good performance. Plus insurance is Way Cheaper.

We both know he isn't getting one, but I'll take the losing side on this bet cause I owe ya. You still bent on staying downtown?

When you going to buy one ya bum? I have to admit the Speed 3 is cool, but with all the bikes I have my wife will throw my ass out if I show up with a Speed 3. Hmmm, it's sounding better all the time!

I wanna stay downtown for a few days so I can experience the madness. I'll come out to the burbs with you after the weekend.

I'm going to Cancun next weekend so I might be all partied out by the time I get to the Windy City!

I am an owner of 3 Suzukis and one Honda but I would seriously consider picking up the Kawasaki 600 or 636 because they are both competitive to anything out there and you can drive a good deal since they will change the model next year. But if you must buy new then I like the Suzuki 600 because it has a wider range of use than the track-focused Yamaha. Good luck.

Both bikes are excellent, but the R6 is more track oriented. The suspension is very stiff, the rear end bounces all over on rough roads(especially so if you're light weight) and the engine makes good power from 9000 RPM to 16000 RPM which is a pretty wide range if you ask me, just not a lot of fun to use in the street.

The new GSX-R600 is the best 600 supersport as a whole package(in my opinion of-course).

I was on track for this year but I got pulled into a load of medical expenses. I should be dug out enough next year to pull the trigger on a 2003 or 2004 S3.

My main problem is that my wife would rather I bought a Harley! I keep telling her I hate having to stop to pick up all the parts that fall off.

Being a Kawasaki guy, go for a Ninja 650R or ZX-6R. 650R is more commuter biased but is funto ride, whiele the 6R is balls out great.

But of the Yamaha or Suzuki, I'd probably lean toward the GSXR600

One of my all time favorites and in my top 3 options for my next bike, also the best option here coming off a ninja 500.

After reading other comments, the Triumph Speed Triple is a great bike with great performance and handling. It might be a little too powerful though, so take it easy with the throttle until you get used to it.

From the 2 options you specified, get the GSX-R600.
