You don't even have to do the loop. Go from Vancouver to Lillooet and back. The Duffy Lake Road (which is by far the most entertaining piece) can be done in both directions with equal smile value, even back to back. In any case there is a ton of road construction and ensuing delays on the Sea To Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler prepping for the 2010 Olympics. Check out the link below for the best times to travel that section.

As someone said, Duffy Lake loop, aka Highway 99 through Whistler, Pemberton, and Lillouette is truly one of the best motorcycle roads in the world. There are some great roads on Vancouver Island, including Hwy 14, Hwy 4 and the best of the bunch Hwy 28 to Gold River.

Best place to ride is early mornings around Marine Drive (northern part of Vancouver) either up to Whistler Mountain (one of the world's best ski resorts and great roads leading to it) and or take the Vancouver Island Ferry from Horshoe Bay) to Tofino, on the WEST side of Vancouver Island, towards the Ocean side.
I cant predict the traffic so either go early or late, but fantastic roads and scenery. Be safe! |

Both Tofino and Duffy lake Road circuit past Whistler are first class. That is just the beginning. One hour East of Vancouver is Hope which is the launching point for roads up into the canyon or Manning Park through the mountains. On the East side of the Rockies you need a map as there are literally a dozen different destinations into the Okanogan or Kooteneys.
Any route in or out of Nakusp is motorcycle riding. |
