I've ridden both and they are each excellent bikes in their own way.
The Suzuki is probably the best bang for the buck going. But there is a lot of cheapness to it that isn't apparent on the Buell. The current Buells are beautifully finished motorcycles. I notice the little ***** and the quality of the brackets, finishes, etc. is superior on the Buell. If cheap and good matters, get the SV. If cool and good matters more than money, get the Buell.

I'd get the SV. Yet another example of someone recommending what they own. It's a ton of fun, and in addition you can attach a milk crate to the back.

If you can afford it, go with the Buell.

Neither one, the Man is targeting our precious bodily fluids. Stay off the public roads. Did you know they fluoridate the drinking water?

I stay locked in my room now and I can only eat pop-tarts because they can be slipped under the door.

The Buell's engine charateristic is very divisive. Some love it.
Me, I loath it. Its crap. 100% pure, unadulturated, 1960s era Crap. It needs to be tossed out and replaced by an engine which can do the chassis justice. I demoed a Tuono, an XB9, and an XB12 all on the same day. Like day and night between the Rotax twin and the F@#)* harley lumps. So testride it first. If you like the engine/transmission, enjoy, get it over the SV (its more unique). There are many who like them. But if you really want more low end, get a used 1L italian twin, like a tuono or Falco. |

A true classic in the halls of motojournalism.
Didn't notice you posted that a few minutes before..gotta stop these 3 martini lunches (burp). Thinks this guy's gonna get a Buell? Doubt it.
