Good point on the suspension setup, I weigh 130lbs so no OEM setup is ever correct for me, which is likely why the Buell felt like it was going to lowside with the first steering input.

Y'know, I'd like to believe what you say, seeing as how you're a racer, and have the commensurate knowledge and experience to render an informed opinion.
But kpaul says sporting twins suck, especially Buells, so there.

Yup
but I sez buying a spec sheet will do NOTHING toward making anybody a better rider or racer. My recommendation is don't buy a sport twin. The important thing is to RIDE - doesn't matter what you ride. I know saying that it doesn't matter what you ride is HERESY - but it's true. Sooner or later, we all have to STFU and just RIDE!

I've been riding for almost 45 years. I've owned numerous bikes through the years. The most fun I've had on a bike is on my SV naked. It's hard to pin it down, but the bike is just a great combination of performance and ease.
You will probably upgrade the suspension, but even then the bike is a bargain. I know people who have gone past 100K miles on theirs, I know several who are past 75K miles. Reliable and durable. |
