"Are you saying that the 2006 GSXR1000 is the same, technically, as the 2004 GSXR1000?"

No, I am saying they are not the same.

However, the current value of a 2004 GSXR is diminished mostly due to the fact that it is not the best anymore. It does remain a very competent sport bike. The significance of the technical improvements on the newer models is not proportional to the level of depreciation of value of the old models.

The Japs do this on purpose.

"I'll just continue to ride the hell out of my bike that I bought as a new leftover at a sizable discount"

Yep, and thanks for proving my point Â… the technological advance (if any) of the current model pales in significance to the monetary discount you were afforded for a brand new leftover.

Mostly I agree with the sentiment that could be summarized thusly: Ride whatever rattles your oun, particular cage. Pay no attention to what other people think about your ride.

Jeez, what rotten luck. I've had real good luck with most all Honda products, from lawnmowers to cars. That's shocking about the VTX and your new 919. Maybe too many sake breaks at lunch for the workers?

My Buell's running fine after a few minor electrical problems btw. It's a Harley at heart.

Maybe being forced to ride a Sears Puch 250 for a week might straighten out his attitude.

except that they typically have very few problems.

Anyway I buy bikes to ride them.

Wow. Exactly. I've thought of this many times. It's not the bikes per se. The people I respect are the people who know exactly what they have- the pros and cons, everything. Not just that theirs is the "best" and all others are crap. Kudos to you man.
