Only the 84-86 Nighthawks have the hydraulic lifters and shaft drive. My brother has a 1993 Nighthawk 750 and his is chain drive. Two steps forward and one backward?

I agree about the Magna. Had a V65 once upon a time, the best bike I ever owned before or since, but Oh the maintainence! Valve adjustments require draining all the coolant and removing the radiator, coils, and all sorts of stuff to get to the valve covers. (Moto-Trivia question: How many valve cover gaskets are on a V65 engine? Answer: 3 (!)).

And just try to reinstall those 4 carbs back in the "Vee" of the engine after rejetting. Ugh.

I'd love to have one has a second bike but the thought of maintaining a 20yr old Honda V4 is just too painful for me. No motorcycle is worth that....
