Default Re: Import Buying Question.

I have not done this but I did buy a high performance Ford transmission from Lentech in Ottawa. Mind you this is just an auto part, but before they could ship it to me they had to have my SS# etc. Presumably to thwart filling it with drugs??? So I can just imagine what would happen if you brought in a motorcycle. Who remembers when America was a free county?

Default Re: Import Buying Question.

I imported a F-150 last year. No big deal, just follow the steps below and all is well. One thing I assume is that you are a US citizen.

Go to a dealer in Canada or contact Kawi and request an import letter. It tells US Customs the bike fits our specs, or it will tell you the items you have to fix in order to make it fit. (You will have to pay for this letter)

Go through the border and give them the paperwork. All is well. You will get a certificate from Customs that tells the state that the bike fits and they will treat it as anyother vehicle you are tagging.

It's no big deal.
