Damn, son! Way to encourage people to ride! You're probably the guy who doesn't wave back, aren't you

God forbid someone should get into motorcycling their own way. I scold myself for stooping so far as to reply to this.

Your wife is right by the way...

Don't let that stop you...there's nothing wrong with a little mid-life crisis every now and then. She may never understand, but when she sees how happy that motorcycle makes you she'll let it go.

I think they've stopped bathing also.

This is the correct decision - so long as you get a 2004 or later model, but it sure would be nice if there was an easy cheap method to get the late model sporty's to lose a couple hundred pounds.

Did you hear that the French police busted into Lance Armstrong's hotel room and found three banned substances?

Shampoo, deodorant and soap.

" my wife thinks i'm going through some mid-life thing but she doesn't understand."

No, it's not a mid-life crisis. If it was, you'd be buying a jag-off chopper.

Guys buy sports cars and bikes and other fun things at midlife because that's the first time in our lives we can afford them. If we could have bought them at 18 or 25 or 30, we would have. But we had to buy mortgages and kids' braces and a dinette set for the wife who now snorts and says, "What, is this bike your mid-life crisis?"

Grrr. Pet peeve. You set me off.

Guess I'll have to call you cheap. I've lived in Minnesota for the last 44 years and have been riding 43 of those years. I guess you do what you gotta do.

Agreed. I was married, with son, and in grad school in the early 90's. I rode a 70's Yamaha 400 and then an 85 500 Interceptor. The Interceptor wasn't running when I bought it. Oh, and there was that CB900 w/30K miles before both of them.... In most cases, if you REALLY want a bike, you can find a way to make it happen.

If this were a mid life thing, I would have been dead about 12 years ago.
