To hell with him. As far as I know, he isn't your mom, so it doesn't matter what he says. Get out there are test ride some bikes. That will give you a better idea of what you like, and then the choice will be easier. Welcome back.

I think that might of been some of that sarcasm that is going around. Tone doesn't always come through on the board.

I was going to suggest that you just get the dinette set instead. (just kidding)

I'm not sure where GSXRWolf reply went, so I'll reply down here to it...

Man, life happens, who they h3ll are you to say he's not a real motorcyclist since he had to put riding aside for a while? If he has a love to ride, then as far as I'm concerned he is as much of a motorcyclist as someone who has spent the last 20 years riding, especially since he is putting forth the effort to get back in to it right (MSF, getting advice) rather jumping on something and taking off. To me, this shows a commitment to keep with it, not drop it again like a bad habit.

Though, you probably won't hear a word I said since I am unfortunate enough not to own my own bike, leaving me to beg, borrow, and rent to keep any resemblance of skills up. I guess that since my decisions to focus on my future (such as MadCuban) and the extreme output of cash it is costing me, despite my love of riding and the sinking feeling in my heart whenever I see a bike go by, makes me one of the non-riders with just a passing thought that will vanish into the night when the next hapless indulgence to come along.

MadCuban - I wish you all the luck in returning to this sport. It was probably a hard decision to give up your bike in the first place (I know it was heart breaking for me to cancel my order for my '04 Firebolt) and personally am glad to hear you again pursuing riding despite the criticisms of others.

Hmmm... You're right about tone doesn't always carry... Still, it didn't come off that way to me, as one can tell by my other reply. Usually the poster gives some indication of a sm@rt@ss remark.

I'll leave it as his words pissed me off, which isn't that easy to do over the net.

Get a 2000 VFR 800, or a Blade.

Spend the rest in Gear & Mods (comfort + power).

I thought the GSXRWolf's are in response to Gabe's article re: people don't ride the right bikes or enough miles to his satisfaction and many of you seemed to agree with him. I just assumed he was taking that point of view to the extreme.

You said "The Buell City X looks great for me but I'm not crazy abought the riding postion."

Have you tried the other Buells like the new Lightning Long XB12Ss??

Great thing about Buells that's hard to get anywhere else is they will let you test ride.

Yes, get the ST and give us a review of it! I've been looking to hear what it's like to live with.

...or maybe I'll just have to buy one. I guess you can never have too many bikes...right?
