Yeah, right. And the Labor government of the time was such a resounding success!

I'll echo what others have said here about getting a lawyer and access. I guess it really depends what jusridiction you are operating in. I do not know what the legal conditions are like in MO, but a ticket like that here in VA would have me heading directly to a lawyer's office.

That's ridiculous and you know it. This is just flame-bait.

Get a lawyer regardless of whether you think you can afford one or not. If you can't afford a lawyer, then you definitely can't afford the insurance premium increase.

What worked for me inthe past was to tell the cop exactly how fast I was going. They appreciate the honesty.

Umm... you do realize that that's what courts are for, right?

What bothers ME is that cops have a hardon for speeders but completely ignore much more dangerous driving behaviors (talking on the cell phone while driving, left lane blocking, tailgating, etc., etc.). Things that are harder to catch while sitting lazily on the side of the road.

What bothers ME is that speed limits are set artificially low so cops can pull over pretty much anybody they feel like.

What bothers ME is that speeding fines have become an easy source of revenue for police departments.

Those are much bigger problems than somebody exercising his constitutional right of getting a hearing in court.

In fact, everybody should get a lawyer for every speeding ticket and "block up" the courts. That would make sure that cops only give speeding tickets to people who really deserve them, not try to make a quick buck off someone safely doing 20 over on a deserted highway.

On a motorcycle, a little faster than traffic is safer than going with traffic. When you're faster, your safety doesn't depend on the driving abilities of people coming up behind or beside you.
