Well,, I did crash test the JR Phoenix at about 35 MPH or so. Scuffed the padded surface and rubbed through the Dry-Tech liner where my shoulder hit the road. Broke the shoulder; no road rash any place except my denim covered knee! Still using the jacket. Trashed the HJC Symax but it did its job. Heard a loud "bong" but that was the extent of the cranial damage. Nothing really is cool in August in Tampa, FL, but I won't ride without it.

It's got a sleeve for a back protector and armored shoulders and elbows, and it definitely flows a lot of air.

I wear an Alpinestar Venom jacket in 100+ degree heat (Australia) - it works fine with the liner removed. Expensive here though - about $500AUS which I guess means you guys can get it for $200US!
