I'm surprised no one's mentioned the new yamaha R1...I'm 5'8" and it's the lightest bike I've owned...seat height gets my feet flat to the ground...plus it's pure religion everytime I take it out

Dog Bones are rear suspension components that articulate between the shock absorber and swingarm. Not all bikes have them, that is to say some motorcycles connect the shock directly to the swingarm. I forget what they do other than add to the cost of a motorcycle.

There are some great deals on the Rocksters out there as dealers start to make room for '05's. I got mine a month ago with ABS, center stand, passenger seat, and heated grips for $11,600. Those with negotiating skills can probably do better as dealers start to feel pinched. Find one without ABS and we are talking more like ten grand. The low seat is the way to go for shorties and if you want more comfort, a lot more comfort, I believe the great Sargent World Sport Seat for the R1150R Roadster/Rockster is even one inch lower than the stock low seat! Later on you can ad a screen and bags and go touring with you ST buddies.

The key word there is "sometimes". The other guys always have to put their feet down.

No, Honda built the Rune for rich Acura owners who think that the Honda name, "different" styling, and an astronomical price always combine to make a good motorcycle.
Despite their relatively small physical size compared to other cruisers, Harleys are actually quite comfortable for larger people. For sportbikes, a Hayabusa or ZX-12R would be pretty comfortable for a tall person.

I have a Bonneville and a Burgman 650. Both fit me and I am 5'7" with 28" inseam.
My favorite is the Burgman which is deceptively fast and a lot of fun. It corners about as well as my speed four! It accelerates faster than the Bonneville! |

I'm only 5'8" with a 30" inseam. My ride, a BMW R1100GS with a 34" seat height. Just love it.
What's the problem? |

5'5'", 130lbs wet. BMW R1200GS. No problem here. Started on cruisers, moved to BMW's. R1150R's are pretty good for short folk
