Re: Computer Bag Help
Pelican Cases. Available at any Pro Audio or Video store or through their website. The best, period. What all professional audio/video folks use to protect computers and cameras.

Performance Audio in SLC has an extensive website where you can order these and some of the best deals going.

best of luck

Re: Computer Bag Help
I commute 25 mi one-way with a laptop. I own several spire backpacks and will probably purchase one of their courier bags for my new (larger) laptop. I've been buying the spire packs because:
<ul>[*] They provide a rigid insert around the padded laptop case.[*] The laptop pocket is attached to the outside wall of the main compartment, not the wall next to your back. Makes it way more comfortable if your bike has monkey humping a football ergos.[*] Well constructed -- I'm a Sr parachute rigger, so I appreciate good sewing. :-)[/list]The only downside is that they are not as waterproof as the Ortlieb bags. For my relatively short commute that isn't an issue since simple scothguard waterproofing is sufficient.

Re: Computer Bag Help
I have a non magnetic tank bag from

It will not fall off!

You should lay a bed of bubble wrap at the bottom of the tank bag to isolate your computer from high frequency vibrations.

Milk Crate?
You can get a milk crate from the grocery store for free. Don't forget the rainbow bungie cords.

Re: Computer Bag Help
Putting a laptop in the tankbag is fine. Don't take these wussies, and their cynical comments seriously. I have been using an Oxford magnetic tankbag on my ZX6R for the last 4 years. I use my raingear, and a notebook as a cushion for my laptop. No problem commuting 80 miles a day.
