There you go buzglyd, fly to Chicago hit a few disco's with longride, then buy a new R1 at $3k less than Cali prices and trailer it home.

From everything I hear, the SV650 market (especially in the northern California area) is booming... You list your bike, and you'll sell it within a day or two (most go within 24 hours)...

Just another reason to own an SV

Thats how I got my '02 Trophy. Substanstial discounts from Triumph and the dealership because it was a demo and nearing the end of it's production run, plus a good trade-in price on my bike because the dealership was willing to work a deal.

Treating the customers fairly is the way to go because so far I've spent over $900 on a top box, luggage rack, and other trinkets there.

My Bandit was the only current year bike I've bought. Everything else has been a leftover with at least a grand off.

Is ol' Cal hanging around Utah now? he got run out of Washington about 15 years ago.

I had a "crappy 250 YZ" until my ex- bro-in-law stole it. It was actually a lot of fun, took a lickin' an' kept on tickin'.

The only thing that saved him was that he's worth even less than a 20 year old beat-up dirtbike.

Considering how ugly the new one is, that doesn't surprise me :P

It's nowhere near as much of a dinosaur as a ZX-6E though...

Nicely done; when we were least expecting it.

Bravo.

Don't get picky. I don't remember the exact year but some of the early Japanese attempts to make a motocross bike were pretty sad. So I got the year wrong. So what? At least I don't ride a bike that requires and accessory oil supply to travel over 300 miles.

Neener neener neener.

"If the bike is in pristine condition, average retail from a private party is reasonable. ...[snip]... Buying from a private party vs a dealer should not really impact the price just the time it takes to sell it. ...[snip]... some folks actually buy on impulse. ...[snip]... Beyond that, it's getting a qualified buyer to look at the product. ...[snip]..."

So "qualified buyer" == "person with more money than sense"?

First YZ's were early release 1974 models, so some were around in 73.
