They can keep their stinking helmet, I will put the money into suspension improvements and smoke the squids down the twisty roads.

Unfortunately your local airbrusher can often charge as much as the lid or more. Then not get your lid back to you for quite some time. I'll learn more on the subject soon as Im looking to have some custom work done on the Wife's white RX7 III... Nothing like picking up a almost never used lid for $200...

About a year ago I purchased a yellow Joey Dunlop commerative Arai, announced for sale as a fund raising effort shortly after Joey's untimely death. I had never owned an Arai before, but it's the best helmet that I've ever seen.

Hmmm, 25 posts and counting on a press release about a new helmet design. What is it about Arai that elicits such passion?

Default Amen

They pulled the same thing with a press-release about the all-Buell racing series.

I don't care if MO just posts press releases as they receive them, but a little note would save me a lot of time reading ad copy I would normally avoid.

I think it's ad money....

Anyway, where is the outrage over Arai's decision to stop selling its helmets via the Internet motorcycle mail order houses? I mean, this $700 helmet could most likely be found on MAW or Dennis Kirk for $2-300 cheaper before this change (which Arai claims helps their customers get the 'best fit possible' ...but more likely it was to help out dealers who couldn't sell the lids for their usual incredible markup). Now we're stuck paying the dealer's outrageous tag. BULLSH IT! If I didn't love Arai lids so much I wouldn't be so pissed...but I am now considering Shoei. Listening, Arai?
