See if you can find the previous year's "Street Rod" (VRSCR). It has a slightly taller seat height and the footpegs where they belong.

These bikes were not popular with the bar-and-shield crowd, so there are quite a few still on the showroom floor, at a discount.

I'm borrowing a dyna wide glide to kinda get out of the sport feel before I buy the new bike...and let me say more than just the first "few" corners were interesting Though I haven't done any damage yet...as for the 999, I dunno if I'll ever manage to be rid of it.
oh, and I'm really looking to buy new for the first time since my 600. I'll be back in Iraq this summer, and Harleys are great to us there. Good discount while deployed. factory cost, no dealer markup, no fees, and no tax. shipped to any dealer in the world, free.

Just check "real world" pricing.

As mentioned above, there are V-Rods sitting in showrooms all over. You may get a swingin' deal without going through the Military Sales route.

That's a good deal, my ex bro inlaw is there now just starting his third tour. Nasty business. Stay safe and all that, you need to come back and get some miles on that new bike LOL

I do not think there's much "marking-up" going on right now. My local dealer has plenty of product on the floor right now, and the salespeople just about attacked me when I walked in the door, despite the fact that I parked my DRZ400 in a "H-D Only" spot. (Hey, nobody else was there!)

He's lucky he didn't ruin his tires, or slip and break a leg - with the oil that must be all-over those parking-spaces............
